Before It Passes

                   Images3

Here's where I have been spending most of my time lately. I know that I have not been around to write or respond to many of your e-mails, but my thoughts are with you. As a supervisor at Home Depot, spring is the busiest time of the year for us. As for being in the garden department, there is not enough time in a 8 hour work day to accomplish what must be done. It is crucial that the associates work together to take care of everyone that enters our store. I believe that good customer service is a must, and being patient with those that are not "gifted" with patience. The key to survival is handling one at a time so you don't get that drowning feeling. I think that everyone should work retail once in their life. Not everyone is cut out for it. One good Saturday at the Depot and you will know if you are cut out or not.

If I could just get in my head of practicing what I preach I think that I would be a better person. I think that many of us struggle with what Paul did in the Bible, meaning doing the things that we do not want to do, and not doing the things that we desire. Anyone got some good wisdom on how to accomplish this?

Anyway, everyone enjoy this spring and stop to see the new leaves and flowers in bloom before they reach full maturity. I am thinking of my kids as I write this. Carpe Diem!!!!......before it passes you.

I HAVE NO IDEA!!!!
lol

If you figure it out, will you please teach me???

I love Home Depot in the Spring. Any store with garden tool, yard projects, flower, trees, fountains.
I used to just wander around, dreaming of my next project...

well, i'll be hanging out there a lot myself. i was just there this morning.

is this what you mean by "knocking on the door"? i'm not as hip as some...

you have a pretty blog, and my maiden last name. lucky you eh?

Ahh spring, when a young mans thoughts turn to yard work, and how to get out of it.

I used to work at Menards, so I know what you are talking about. I was in the hardware department and we usually started getting hit during spring too.

Hang tight, Bro'.
Sometimes when I'm dealing with people and patience is growing thin, (this may sound hokey, I know...) I look at that person and think "God is testing me and I will pass the test." Afterward, at least I know I did my best.

Colossians 3:22-24 "Slaves, obey in everything those who are your earthly masters, not by way of eye-service, as people-pleasers, but with sincerity of heart, fearing the Lord. Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ."

I believe the key to peace is understanding that you are serving Christ, not the unhappy customer. There was a time in my life, when I understood that I was serving Christ in the everyday monotony of the work day. Somewhere, I lost that. Rather that seeking to do a good job because it glorifies God, I have become self-seeking in my daily routines. It's so easy to stray. I've got to remember that being a good worker is serving God.

Little brother, it is the busy days that make that 8 hour day go by so fast, so that we might spend the rest of the time with all we love.
By the way, I wish it would slow down at some point during the year where I work but unfortunately it is always a "full-house". "Job Security", so it is called. Take care, love to all, Sister.

I have to say the job I am doing now, not is patience a virtue, it is a Blessing. Unfortunately every day of the year is busy and a full house. Thank you Dear Lord for my patience and the ability to see the beautiful Bluebonnets and country land on my way home. :c) Hang in there Lil Brother. Love you. C.
