"Play Ball!"

Got some great shots of my #1 son playing ball the other day. Boy, he makes his Daddy proud!!! It's fun to watch this age play. Usually, if your team can hit you can pretty much win the game. Defense is no ones strong side, that usually develops a bit later on. At least at this age, when a grounder is hit the infield does not clear out in a chase to see who can get to it first! That is so funny to see in tee-ball!

I love the way my son sticks his little tongue out when he is concentrating on something...this time it's running! He is just like his Momma...in some ways...lol!

My boy is built for football, but if he gets that bat on that ball......WATCH OUT!!! Check out that Davis butt. Look at the dust under the feet of the little guy in the air...he missed it! Sorry Charley!

Did I also mention that he has a cannon for an arm! And very accurate too! I did not have the size as a kid that my son has, but I threw strikes down the ol' pipe as a pitcher. I think I am going to work with him on pitching. I cannot wait to get a catchers mit and spend time in the yard with my buddy. This time of year I can smell the wild onions being cut in the yards, feel the cool breeze in the air and what I hear in my mind is one thing, 'Play ball!"

Before It Passes

Here's where I have been spending most of my time lately. I know that I have not been around to write or respond to many of your e-mails, but my thoughts are with you. As a supervisor at Home Depot, spring is the busiest time of the year for us. As for being in the garden department, there is not enough time in a 8 hour work day to accomplish what must be done. It is crucial that the associates work together to take care of everyone that enters our store. I believe that good customer service is a must, and being patient with those that are not "gifted" with patience. The key to survival is handling one at a time so you don't get that drowning feeling. I think that everyone should work retail once in their life. Not everyone is cut out for it. One good Saturday at the Depot and you will know if you are cut out or not.

If I could just get in my head of practicing what I preach I think that I would be a better person. I think that many of us struggle with what Paul did in the Bible, meaning doing the things that we do not want to do, and not doing the things that we desire. Anyone got some good wisdom on how to accomplish this?

Anyway, everyone enjoy this spring and stop to see the new leaves and flowers in bloom before they reach full maturity. I am thinking of my kids as I write this. Carpe Diem!!!!......before it passes you.
