You're Gonna Miss This

DSC_3225

As I was walking through the house the other day, I took a long glance once again at this picture that I had taken of my two youngest children. The looks on both of their faces say it all. It is a constant mischievous frenzy around my house...but I love it in a crazy way. I believe the country artist Trace Adkins sings a song right now called "You're Gonna Miss This," and he sings of the growth of a child from beginning to end. It's a song that will make any parent think, and hopefully the child too. The laughter and constant picking of a child will cease one day and be replaced with sober, serious thoughts and smiles may not come as often as they once had. So that is why we are focused at the Davis House to embrace each moment, shake off the little stuff, laugh instead of fret, and hold on to these memories as long as we are living in them. That is it, living memories are what we have in the present. I encourage you to seize a moment in time, turn a beginning argument into a savoring moment. This may take swallowing some pride on your behalf. Not having to be right every time....who cares.

To Tristan and Malachi, my two youngest children.....you drive me nuts!!! lol :), but Daddy was half way there before you ever graced my presence with your beauty and mischievousness....which I take credit myself for the majority of (I'll let you pick which of the two I am referring too..lol!)

That is an awesome shot and a great thought too. I get so caught up with things that I tend to forget my girls are growing up and one day, they won't be around as much. I need to start enjoying every moment I can with them.

As an empty-nester, I can attest to all this. I would give just about anything to have them back here. I miss the chaos and the closeness...

that is such a great picture!! You're really talented.

I've been going through family momento's lately, and I surely miss all the silliness I grew up with. It was such a fun time, even though I couldn't wait to grow up.

We surely will miss it all, won't we, babe? Maybe we should paint the quote in every room so that we can maintain that focus in the midst of all the chaos of running to and fro. Great shot of our babies complimented by my wordsmith! I love you!

Just stopped over to wish you a Happy Father's Day. This particular post seemed to be an appropriate place to do it! :-) Wishing you a great day.
